What's your background?

I grew up in St. Louis, MO, but moved to Cincinnati to study Graphic Design at the School of Design (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati. I’ve always had a passion for design-led research and a special interest in design thinking methodologies which led me to SEEK in 2016. I never planned to be a researcher headed into design school, but when I realized how intertwined the two can be, I fell in love with making research an integral part of the design process and vice versa.

This Is Where You Belong: The Art and Science of Loving the Place You Live by Melody Warnick. It’s an awesome research packed book about making any place you live to feel like home. From someone who formerly bounced around from city to city trying to find the “perfect” city and the “perfect” job, asking myself “what can this city offer me” versus “what can I offer this city” this book truly speaks to my heart about making any place feel like a hometown and establishing roots for a happier life.
